Mission Peoria

It’s Mission Peoria week and I’m writing this to let you know about some great things that are happening in Peoria right now.

Mission Peoria 2013

From the website:

‘Mission Peoria is a week-long mission trip which provides youth the opportunity to serve and minister to children and their families within the inner city of Peoria, Illinois.

The goal of Mission Peoria is to go outside the four walls of the “church” and literally be Jesus to the community through service, relationship and teaching.’

Here’s a look at what’s been happening so far:

That’s just part of it. These students are out in the community participating in service projects, spending time with local kids, and enjoying some great fellowship and worship in the process.

It’s awesome to see kids with such great hearts doing good things for other people and Mission Peoria is something I hope my kids will do when they’re old enough. Perhaps reading this has sparked your interest in getting involved or maybe you could pass this along to someone you know who has a junior high or high school student who might be interested in a life-changing week next year.

You don’t have to live in Peoria to be a part of it. Every year kids come in from all over the country, sometimes from overseas, to participate. It’s great that they do. The community benefits from it and they do, too.

God is good!
