‘Whatever you’ve been told, you’re worth more than gold.’
Love this song and its message. Meanwhile I’ve noticed that as my kids start to grow up a bit, the whole popularity thing has started to creep into some of the conversations.
As someone who never quite got it when it came to popularity while growing up and was never in the ‘in’ crowd, to hear my kids talk about this stuff has reminded me that I need to remind them it’s not about who thinks your cool enough (or in today’s age how many ‘friends’ or ‘followers’ or ‘likes’ you have on social media sites.) It’s about God’s love for us. It’s perfect and will always be there to validate us. That’s where our true worth comes from…not from the opinions of others.
This song is perfect for kids or teenagers, or anyone really. I love the encouragement it offers and will be sharing it with my kids.
Of course, I also wanted to share it with you here. If you’ve never heard it, hopefully it will make ya smile (and don’t forget to check out the remix while you’re at it.)
So don’t be ashamed to wear your crown. You’re a king, you’re a queen, inside and out.
Over the next few weeks, everyone will get timeline. When you get timeline, you’ll have 7 days to preview what’s there now.
So get ready, people. ‘Like’ it or not, if you use Facebook you’re going to be using it with this completely different interface starting very soon.
Of course, as with all Facebook changes, it has to be pointed out this is a FREE service that we’re all using. Kind of trumps any complaints one might have about the things these people decide to do with their website that we are enjoying at no cost 🙂
That being said, this has generated probably more divisive chatter than any other change Facebook has made in the past and it’s always interesting to hear different thoughts on things.

Oh, and be sure to take a good look at your profile once Timeline gets activated for your account. Here’s an article with some helpful advice for customizing your new look.
And to answer your question…no I haven’t changed mine yet. Perhaps I’ll spend an afternoon this weekend going through the past 3.5 years of my life. That should be interesting. Gotta do it though, because Facebook isn’t going to wait much longer for holdouts like me. Deep breath. We can do this!
