“Freedom Arts Project aims to change the community by teaching young people lessons in the arts in a safe environment. Junior and senior high students participate one night a week in an 8-week course. The classes encourage young people, who otherwise would be unable to attend art classes, to pursue old and new passions in the arts.”
Wednesdays have become a lot of fun in recent weeks.
I signed the kids up for a discipleship class at church. They go for an hour every Wednesday and learn fun stuff about Bible stories in small groups with other kids their age. They also learn some general life lessons like how to be respectful and obedient, and they get to have some fun too.
It’s really neat because they both enjoy being there and ask when they get to go back every time it wraps up. Makes me happy to see them getting into it. It’s nice for them to meet some kids that don’t go to their school and at the same time to have an opportunity to grow in their faith.
Meanwhile there’s a Bible study for the ‘grown-ups’ during the time the kids are in their groups and that’s been a good experience as well. Hoping to learn a few things myself while I’m there.
Church can be a pretty cool place. Didn’t always feel that way but I do now and I’m pretty happy about it 🙂
Time to head out…looking forward to what’s in store this week.
This is a show worth bringing the entire family to this weekend. It is a show for all ages and interests and will definitely get you into the Christmas spirit – if you’re not already 🙂
