‘For what?’ you might be saying right now.
Well, here’s some context:
Psalms 50
14 I am God Most High! The only sacrifice I want is for you to be thankful and to keep your word.
23 The sacrifice that honors me is a thankful heart. Obey me, and I, your God, will show my power to save.
Yep, God wants us to be thankful. You’ll notice that it doesn’t specify when or where to be thankful. It doesn’t qualify the command with anything. It says to be thankful.
So let’s be thankful! Thankful for the countless blessings that are in our lives, when times seem good and also when times seem like they’re not so good.
I’d like to do a better job of being thankful when I’m at both ends of the spectrum – when things are great and when they’re not so great.
Not surface-level thankful, either. Deep-down, heartfelt thankful. That’s the kind of thankful I want to be.
I have so much…seems like being truly thankful for it would be the least I could do 🙂
