What to Ask For?

seek-wisdom

Proverbs 8:11
Wisdom is worth much more than precious jewels or anything else you desire.

I’ll be honest, when I first started praying, I had no idea what I should be asking God for. Sometimes, I still need a little direction when it comes to talking with Him.

What about you?

Let me pass along this small piece of advice. Above all else, ask God for wisdom. Like the verse above says, it’s valuable. Really valuable.

I mean, think about it for a minute, and it makes sense. We need wisdom to make the right choices in life. We need wisdom to avoid making the wrong ones. Wisdom is where it all begins.

So, just wanted to put it out there if you’ve never known what to pray – or, even if you do. Seek wisdom.

God will take you where you need to go – it never hurts to ask him what the best way is to get there. 🙂

Have a great day!

Backseat Driver

I don’t want to be no backseat driver. I don’t want to navigate, won’t you take it over? I don’t want to ever doubt You, I’m lost without you, LORD. I don’t want to be no backseat driver.

Is this you? It’s me sometimes, that’s for sure.

I love this song…yeah, the beat is great but the message is really good, too. It’s a reminder to let God do His thing and not get in the way, trying to be in control of things.

Whether what’s going on in your life right now seems good or bad to you, God is in control and it is most definitely to our benefit when we let Him be.

So, here’s to not being a backseat driver in the year ahead – let’s let God drive in 2016! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see where He takes me.

Have a great day.

Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,  neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

Good Sense

Proverbs 10:8
If you have good sense, you will listen and obey; if all you do is talk, you will destroy yourself.

I read this today and thought I’d share it with you here.

We all do just fine when it comes to talking and trying to be heard. But, I think it’s safe to say we all need to do a better job of listening sometimes. I know I do.

Time to do some more listening (and obeying) and a little less talking.

Have a good day.

I’ve got it (not so much)

This one can be tough for all of us.

Proverbs 3

5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.

I mean, after all we are all human beings…we know everything! Right? I certainly think I do from time to time 🙂
