I Don’t Have to Know It

“Certainly praying takes some admissions, that is, recognition of your state as a man. But this admission does not lead to shame, to a feeling of worthlessness or despair, but rather to the discovery that you are a man and God is God.

To pray is to walk in the full light of God. At that moment, conversion occurs, the restoration of the true relationship.

This conversion brings with it the relaxation which lets you breathe again and puts you at rest in the embrace of a forgiving God. The experience results in a calm and simple joy. For then you can say: ‘I don’t know the answer and I can’t do this thing, but I don’t have to know it, and I don’t have to be able to do it.'”

What to Ask For?

seek-wisdom

Proverbs 8:11
Wisdom is worth much more than precious jewels or anything else you desire.

I’ll be honest, when I first started praying, I had no idea what I should be asking God for. Sometimes, I still need a little direction when it comes to talking with Him.

What about you?

Let me pass along this small piece of advice. Above all else, ask God for wisdom. Like the verse above says, it’s valuable. Really valuable.

I mean, think about it for a minute, and it makes sense. We need wisdom to make the right choices in life. We need wisdom to avoid making the wrong ones. Wisdom is where it all begins.

So, just wanted to put it out there if you’ve never known what to pray – or, even if you do. Seek wisdom.

God will take you where you need to go – it never hurts to ask him what the best way is to get there. 🙂

Have a great day!

Yes or No?

How can you say yes to Jesus and not do what He asks you to do?

That was a question posed to a group of us the other day, and it just might make you think for a minute or two.

This really is a good question. We can say yes to Jesus by asking for our sins to be forgiven and saying that we’ll follow Him…but when it comes down to it, are we really doing what He is asking us to do?

Maybe so. But, maybe not.

This question has me thinking and has me praying that I’ll do whatever He wants me to do with this life. After all, it’s not mine, it’s His.

I get in the way so much by thinking about my plans, my this and my that. What about you? Is it His plan or your plan? Is it yes or no?

Hope this message finds you well. I’m believing in great things here and believing the same for you, too!

Have a great day.

Praying without Ceasing

The conversation came up last night about goals, when it comes to fulfilling God’s purpose in our lives. The goal I talked about is wanting to spend more time in prayer. Just, being able to have that closeness with God and maintain a conversation with Him.

Found this article this morning, and it has some great suggestions.

5 Battle-Tested Ways to Pray without Ceasing

From the article:

The directive to “pray without ceasing” means that we are ever present with God throughout the entire day. We are continually interacting with Him in prayer as we move from task to task. When we face a challenge, we ask for His assistance. As we experience a blessing, we thank Him for His favor.

It’s sort of like being on the phone, and we never hang up. We acknowledge His presence throughout every single day.

Good stuff. Click the link above to read the rest of the article. Just some simple, practical ways to keep the conversation going with God throughout your day.

It’s already come in handy for me, on my drive to work this morning. Go figure, the commute was much more peaceful than usual. 🙂

Have a great day.
