Hurricane Charley – Ten Years Later

As ‘Throwback Thursdays’ go, this one has a lot of meaning for me. I’m taking you back 10 years to August 14, 2004 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina…

Yes that’s me, reporting as Hurricane Charley came ashore that day. It was the highlight of my television news career and a day I’ll never forget.

Here’s some more footage from our day-long live broadcast on WPDE NewsChannel 15.

Have a great day everyone.

Fun with Fatherhood – Beach Bound

I have a rental car packed with suitcases, a beach umbrella, paddle ball paddles, a football, sunscreen, a blanket, towels, a big bag for collecting seashells…and no socks. Must be time to go to the beach 🙂

Taking the kids on a road trip to the Myrtle Beach for the weekend. Should be awesome. Can’t wait to get back to the place I called home for nearly six years.

I can hear the ocean already…

JIMMY-PALOOZA

For those of you who live in the Myrtle Beach, SC area I ask that you please take a look at this flyer and consider attending this fundraiser for one of my dear friends, Jimmy Moore.

Jimmy was in a serious car accident last month. He suffered a significant spinal cord injury resulting in nerve damage and a loss of feeling throughout his body. He also had a serious head laceration, but luckily not a brain injury. His recovery will be a slow one, but a sure one.

This fundraiser is being planned to help Jimmy and his wife, Jaimie. There will be raffles, 50-50 drawing(s) and live music.

So head on over to Bumstead’s Pub on Mr. Joe White Avenue Thursday, September 29th and show your support. I am sure it will be a great time and whatever support you can provide will help a lot.

Thanks everyone.
