Praise Report

It’s been really cool lately to see good things happening to some of the people I love the most. After what has seemed like a long season of difficulties and struggles, I am seeing favor and blessing upon them in some pretty big ways, and I can’t hide my joy about it. It’s overwhelming to see what’s happening…in a good way.

Thanks, God, for listening to prayers and always being there.

O praise the name of the Lord our God.
O praise His name forevermore.
For endless days, we will sing Your praise,
O Lord, O Lord our God.

What to Think About

Heard this today and it was a good reminder.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Here’s why it was a good reminder. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today, for no particular reason. Just grumpy, frustrated, etc. That’s no fun.

Then, I heard the verse at church shortly afterward. The context was, how we have the ability to decide what to think about. We can focus on the junk, the negatives, and pretty much any other thought that will lead to defeat, be in short or long term.

We also have the option to thing about the type of things mentioned at the beginning of this post. Things that will lead us to a place of joy and peace, if we are willing to think about them instead of the other stuff.

This was good timing for me. Maybe it is for you. Here’s to focusing on the good instead of the not-so-good.

The Constant Among the Changes

Even during this absolutely crazy year of 2020, with so many changes and so many struggles here on this Earth…one thing has not changed.

Psalms 102:27
You are always the same. You are God for all time.

I don’t know about you, but this gives me reason for having joy. He is with us, through it all. Yes!

Plenty to still be thankful for, today. Happy Thanksgiving, friends. Have a great day.

I Don’t Have to Know It

“Certainly praying takes some admissions, that is, recognition of your state as a man. But this admission does not lead to shame, to a feeling of worthlessness or despair, but rather to the discovery that you are a man and God is God.

To pray is to walk in the full light of God. At that moment, conversion occurs, the restoration of the true relationship.

This conversion brings with it the relaxation which lets you breathe again and puts you at rest in the embrace of a forgiving God. The experience results in a calm and simple joy. For then you can say: ‘I don’t know the answer and I can’t do this thing, but I don’t have to know it, and I don’t have to be able to do it.'”
