What to Think About

Heard this today and it was a good reminder.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Here’s why it was a good reminder. I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today, for no particular reason. Just grumpy, frustrated, etc. That’s no fun.

Then, I heard the verse at church shortly afterward. The context was, how we have the ability to decide what to think about. We can focus on the junk, the negatives, and pretty much any other thought that will lead to defeat, be in short or long term.

We also have the option to thing about the type of things mentioned at the beginning of this post. Things that will lead us to a place of joy and peace, if we are willing to think about them instead of the other stuff.

This was good timing for me. Maybe it is for you. Here’s to focusing on the good instead of the not-so-good.

One of a Kind

God only made one of you. That means you’re a limited edition, a rare find. You’re unique…and that’s a good thing. I hope you embrace you today, because no one else can fill that role. You matter and you’re His beautiful creation, so live today with a smile on your face, knowing that. You are loved.

Great Things – Expect and Attempt

“Expect great things from God. Attempt great things for God.”

I heard those words spoken at church this morning. Really like this quote!

Being bold in how we pray, how we approach God and how we believe in what He promises…all very important.

Just as important…how we live our lives.

This challenged me today, but also encouraged me. It was a reminder to give my all for Him – at the same time, to be confident in what He can (and will) do in our lives.

Equipped to Love

I read this quote the other day and it stuck with me.

With all the fighting in the world that goes on, the disagreements, the hurt feelings…this is so important to internalize.

We have the power to love people. We have the power to love people as we would like to be loved. It’s there. We just need to tap into it.

Busy

Hi there!

For those of you who are longtime readers of this blog (and I thank you for that) you have probably noticed that I don’t add a lot of posts here, anymore.

Well, it’s not because I don’t enjoy blogging. It’s because I’m busy. But, not in a bad way.

So much going on these days, which leaves not much time for blogging. The time is being filled with good things, though. All is well on this end. 🙂

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and let you know I very much appreciate you for taking the time to read my blog posts. I’ll do my best to keep adding new posts, here. If I don’t, just know it’s not for lack of love…it’s only for lack of time.
