God Is Who He Is

“Obedience is the key to real faith – the unshakable kind of faith so powerfully illustrated by Job’s life. Job lost his home, his family, his health. But though it appeared God had abandoned him, Job clung to the assurance that God is who He is.”
-Charles Colson

Isn’t it funny how quickly we forget that God is who He is?

  • Stuck in traffic. What am I going to do? I’m running late!
  • Tough day at work. How am I ever going to get this done? Why do I have to deal with this situation?
  • Family issues. Why can’t this child see the right way to do things?
  • Financial problems. How are we going to afford this? We’ll never get out of this hole.

Where’s God in all of these questions? We all (myself absolutely included) tend to forget that He is in control…that God is who He is.

So much stress, so much worry.

As the author goes on to say, real faith is believing and acting obediently regardless of circumstances or contrary evidence.

A reminder to myself today, and anyone else who needs it, to keep that in mind. If we truly believe in God, incorporating that belief into our daily routine and applying it to difficulties that come up will keep us in a place of peace.

Simply remembering that God is who He is can be a real game-changer.

Have a great day.

Backseat Driver

I don’t want to be no backseat driver. I don’t want to navigate, won’t you take it over? I don’t want to ever doubt You, I’m lost without you, LORD. I don’t want to be no backseat driver.

Is this you? It’s me sometimes, that’s for sure.

I love this song…yeah, the beat is great but the message is really good, too. It’s a reminder to let God do His thing and not get in the way, trying to be in control of things.

Whether what’s going on in your life right now seems good or bad to you, God is in control and it is most definitely to our benefit when we let Him be.

So, here’s to not being a backseat driver in the year ahead – let’s let God drive in 2016! I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait to see where He takes me.

Have a great day.

Isaiah 55:8-9
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,  neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD. “As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.

Take Heart

Take Heart

The events of the past week have been difficult to comprehend at times. It is hard to see so much pain and suffering.

However, nothing that has happened changes this fact: God is always in control, no matter what.

So, here is a challenge to anyone who believes that today. Be a warrior for God! Be bold and don’t be afraid to speak out on His behalf.

The world needs more love, more grace, and more truth. Don’t hold back from spreading God’s message. He will give you the strength to do it…just ask.

Anyone can help change this world for the better. Why not you?

Blessings to all of you today, and every day.
