We have been blessed with some very nice weather in the Midwest the past few days. As in, 70 degrees with just the right combination of warmth from the sun and a faint, slightly cool breeze.
When you live in a region that experiences both extreme cold and extreme heat, you learn to really appreciate conditions like this. These are the days when I want to do so much outside, that sometimes I almost end up ruining the experience of simply enjoying it!
So I decided to relax and take in the evening. I sat down on a chair on the patio yesterday evening and just looked around for a while. The birds were chirping and it was really peaceful out there.
I couldn’t get over how blue the sky looked. Here’s a shot, looking up from my chair…
Just, perfect.
I’m always amazed at how impressive nature is when a few minutes are dedicated to observing and experiencing it. As a person with a lot of energy and who does not excel at being still for long periods of time, this is something I really need to force myself to do more often.
A beautiful sunset closed out the evening on the patio. I went inside and realized I’d spent the past hour or so basically just staring at the sky.
Not a bad way to spend an evening. I’m thankful for it…it was a great reminder of how awesome God’s creation really is.
Genesis 1
6 Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” 7 And that is what happened. God made this space to separate the waters of the earth from the waters of the heavens. 8a God called the space “sky.”
