Choices: Blessings with Consequences

“We’ve been blessed with the freedom to choose. But, your choices have consequences – for you and also for others. Choices can affect you for a lifetime. A lot of times we don’t realize just how widespread the impact our choices can (and do) have. Put God first when you make your choices!”
-Brandon Dudley

From the beginning of time, this has been true. God has blessed us with the ability and freedom to make choices (Genesis 2:16-17) but those choices have resulted in some very significant consequences (Genesis 3) as well.

Choices

So, just as Mr. Dudley said…put God first when you make your choices. The results will be much better for you when you do. 🙂

Have a great day.

Time After Time

‘If you’re lost you can look and you will find me, time after time. If you fall I will catch you, I’ll be waiting. Time after time.’
-Cyndi Lauper

I’m sharing this video today because it’s one of the best instrumental versions of any song I’ve heard in recent memory. Beautiful music.

I’m sharing the lyrics above and the message because perhaps someone needs to hear it right now. Re-read the words…that’s the same thing God is saying, always has been saying, and always will be saying to you.

Genesis 28:15
Wherever you go, I will watch over you, then later I will bring you back to this land. I won’t leave you – I will do all I have promised.

It’s good to know we are always cared about like that.

Enjoy the song, and remember that you are loved.

Have a great day.

Sky

We have been blessed with some very nice weather in the Midwest the past few days. As in, 70 degrees with just the right combination of warmth from the sun and a faint, slightly cool breeze.

When you live in a region that experiences both extreme cold and extreme heat, you learn to really appreciate conditions like this. These are the days when I want to do so much outside, that sometimes I almost end up ruining the experience of simply enjoying it!

So I decided to relax and take in the evening. I sat down on a chair on the patio yesterday evening and just looked around for a while. The birds were chirping and it was really peaceful out there.

I couldn’t get over how blue the sky looked. Here’s a shot, looking up from my chair…

Just, perfect.

I’m always amazed at how impressive nature is when a few minutes are dedicated to observing  and experiencing it. As a person with a lot of energy and who does not excel at being still for long periods of time, this is something I really need to force myself to do more often.

A beautiful sunset closed out the evening on the patio. I went inside and realized I’d spent the past hour or so basically just staring at the sky.

Not a bad way to spend an evening. I’m thankful for it…it was a great reminder of how awesome God’s creation really is.

Genesis 1
Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” And that is what happened. God made this space to separate the waters of the earth from the waters of the heavens. 8a God called the space “sky.”
