God’s Spirit

Galatians 5
22 God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23 gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.

So rain down, Holy Spirit and fill us with everything we need to possess all of the assets listed above. Thank you for loving us, God. Thank you for giving us these gifts that can stand up to anything that happens here on Earth.

Have a good day everyone.

Do you ever just feel really…blessed?

Not necessarily because anything is going particularly good or bad, but just because ya know you’re lucky to have what you have and that God’s love is bringing you a certain kind of joy that can’t be stopped.

I’ve been feeling that way lately. Nothing here on Earth has influenced it. It’s definitely coming from the Man Upstairs.

So yeah, I feel really blessed right now. And I am super thankful for that.

Have a great day everyone.

Be Yourself

A conversation yesterday reminded me of the importance of doing this. Being yourself is one of the best things you can do, and it’s one of the very few things you can control.

You can’t be something else, someone else, or some other form of anything other than yourself. Well, at least you can’t do any of those and expect to be truly happy or at peace.

So be yourself 🙂

It can be pretty scary to be yourself. I’ve struggled with this in my life and I’ve been a people pleaser more times than I care to count.

But as I have learned and am continuing to learn – don’t live to please other people. In the end, people won’t be who you answer to. All the people you pleased in your life really won’t matter when it’s all said and done. No one here on Earth has the right to judge you for who you are and what you do.

That doesn’t mean it’s an excuse to not be good to others. It’s not. But be yourself. Chances are if you never have or haven’t for a long time, you will feel extremely liberated and more than likely, happier once you’ve made that choice.

Have a good day.

We have been blessed with some very nice weather in the Midwest the past few days. As in, 70 degrees with just the right combination of warmth from the sun and a faint, slightly cool breeze.

When you live in a region that experiences both extreme cold and extreme heat, you learn to really appreciate conditions like this. These are the days when I want to do so much outside, that sometimes I almost end up ruining the experience of simply enjoying it!

So I decided to relax and take in the evening. I sat down on a chair on the patio yesterday evening and just looked around for a while. The birds were chirping and it was really peaceful out there.

I couldn’t get over how blue the sky looked. Here’s a shot, looking up from my chair…

Just, perfect.

I’m always amazed at how impressive nature is when a few minutes are dedicated to observing  and experiencing it. As a person with a lot of energy and who does not excel at being still for long periods of time, this is something I really need to force myself to do more often.

A beautiful sunset closed out the evening on the patio. I went inside and realized I’d spent the past hour or so basically just staring at the sky.

Not a bad way to spend an evening. I’m thankful for it…it was a great reminder of how awesome God’s creation really is.

Genesis 1
Then God said, “Let there be a space between the waters, to separate the waters of the heavens from the waters of the earth.” And that is what happened. God made this space to separate the waters of the earth from the waters of the heavens. 8a God called the space “sky.”

Everyone Who…

Luke 11:10
Everyone who asks will receive, everyone who searches will find, and the door will be opened for everyone who knocks.

The gift of the Holy Spirit is a powerful one. It is something that can truly change your life and give you the supernatural ability to face the many challenges that will arrive during your time here on Earth.

God wants to give this gift to you and equip you with that ability to withstand challenges and triumph over them…all you have to do is ask 🙂
