Soup & Soul for the Center

Soup and Soul

Dine on delicious soups. Listen to great music. Support an organization that helps at-risk children, the homeless, and the community as a whole.

It’s all happening Tuesday, November 11th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Dream Center Peoria!

Soup & Soul for the Center is a benefit event to support the Dream Center’s numerous ministries that are positively impacting Peoria, Illinois. For $20 ($25 at the door) you can enjoy soups from more than 20 local restaurants and live music throughout the evening, all while helping a worthwhile cause.

Order tickets in advance by clicking on the flyer image. Call (309) 676-3000 for more information, or watch this ‘soup-er’ preview video. 🙂

Thank you so much for supporting this event!

thirty-thirty Coffee Co.

I don’t even drink coffee but I am excited to check out this new coffee shop in Peoria:

thirty-thirty Coffee Co. opened their doors for the first time this week.

I drive by the location at 734 Main St. all the time and it’s been fun to watch the transformation of this place during the past several months. Here’s a look at the inside…

Visit the thirty-thirty Facebook page and check out the rest of the photos. They go all the way back to the original condition of the place. I think you’ll be as impressed as I was with what they’ve done once you’ve seen the before and after shots.

For the coffee drinkers (you know, the actual people they are looking to serve with this business) it seems as though this place will have the good stuff.

From the website:

“Every owner and employee within thirty-thirty Coffee Co. shares, in common, an obsession for the coffee bean and all of its iterations. Coffee is not only our passion, an overarching philosophy, or the greatest community to be immersed in—it is truly our life.”

Yeah, I think these folks like their coffee 🙂

As for me, I like the decor. It got my attention and I look forward to enjoying a cup of tea or something else (sorry folks, the coffee drinking thing is just never gonna happen for me) and soaking up the atmosphere while I’m there.

It’s really nice to see a cool new place like this open for business in downtown Peoria. Hopefully it’s a sign of more good things to come.

UPDATE: (11/8/11) I went there tonight and really liked the place. I tried the Mandarin Green Tea and it was quite tasty. Pretty sure I will be trying one of the pastries during my next visit. It’s a cool place. Check it out sometime!
