Help for Haiti

Hurricane Matthew left an incredible path of destruction in many areas during the past week, particularly in Haiti.

Hundreds of people died in that country. Dozens have died in the United States. It was a powerful storm and the damage has been done.

Now, it’s time to help.

“How can I help?”

For starters, pray. Pray for the safety and health of everyone who survived the storms. Cholera is a growing concern in Haiti and it is hard to say what lies in the debris left behind. Pray that hope will overcome despair and that relief supplies will be made available to the people who desperately need them.

Donate to charitable efforts; just make sure the charity you choose will be spending the money specifically for storm relief before sending the donation.

No doubt there will be mission trips to Haiti to help the people, there. That is something to consider as well.

Thank you to everyone, everywhere who has helped people in the wake of this storm. Praying for everyone in Haiti and all places impacted by Hurricane Matthew. God’s still in control! No hurricane, no anything is bigger than He is.

Construction/Destruction

‘Construction sometimes looks like destruction for awhile.’

Work in ProgressHeard that from a friend yesterday. What that meant to me was…even at times when life seems pretty messy, good things are still happening and we’re being built up and made stronger for the rest of our journey.

Hope this encourages you like it encouraged me.

Have a great day everyone.

Simple Math

I’m ‘borrowing’ this from a friend’s Facebook status. It’s one of the easiest equations out there to figure out – and as a Communication major, the easier the math the better for me 🙂 But I digress.

Here you go…

Pride = Destruction
Humility = Honor

Doesn’t get much more simple than that.

I need to remind myself of this equation sometimes. Maybe it will help you, too.

Have a great day.
