Getting Our Attention

I’ve believed this for a number of years now and coming across this verse in the Bible this morning reaffirmed my sentiments.

Job 36
15Hard times and trouble
are God’s way of getting our attention!
16And at this very moment,
God deeply desires to lead you from trouble
and to spread your table with your favorite food.

Looking back in my life, Verse 15 has been spot-on in what it says. No denying it.

Every time you feel like something isn’t going right, or when things actually seem to be at their worst…those are the best times to get closer to God and the times when truly good things are being planned for your life.

As always, we have to believe this and trust this. As always, I am aware and living proof that it’s not always easy to do.

However, I hope you’ll really consider what these words say. It will likely change the way you perceive the rough spots in your life. Keeping an open mind and a receptive heart just might also bring you the peace of mind you’re looking for and quite possibly the resolution to the conflicts or troubles in your life.

It’s advice that I need to take as well.

Have a good day today, friends. God bless.

Worship // Service (Riverside Worship) iTunes Album

Looking for an energetic, uplifting worship album? Well, look no further than right here:

http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/worship-service/id346970052

The album was recorded live at Riverside Community Church in Peoria, IL and the energy in the building that night was incredible. These musicians are blessed with some real talent and their heart for God certainly shows in the way they sing and play the instruments.

Face to Face and Can’t Stop are my favorite songs on here but they’re all really good. I hope you will enjoy the album as much as I do.

Let Your Hope Make You Glad

As is the case with every time I post Bible verses this is more of a reminder to myself than anything, but if these words mean something to someone reading them here, I feel it’s worth posting them.

I read this passage this morning and it spoke to me. Here it is:

Romans 12:9-21

9Be sincere in your love for others. Hate everything that is evil and hold tight to everything that is good. 10Love each other as brothers and sisters and honor others more than you do yourself. 11Never give up. Eagerly follow the Holy Spirit and serve the Lord. 12Let your hope make you glad. Be patient in time of trouble and never stop praying. 13Take care of God’s needy people and welcome strangers into your home.

14Ask God to bless everyone who mistreats you. Ask him to bless them and not to curse them. 15When others are happy, be happy with them, and when they are sad, be sad. 16Be friendly with everyone. Don’t be proud and feel that you are smarter than others. Make friends with ordinary people. 17Don’t mistreat someone who has mistreated you. But try to earn the respect of others, 18and do your best to live at peace with everyone.

19Dear friends, don’t try to get even. Let God take revenge. In the Scriptures the Lord says,

“I am the one to take revenge and pay them back.”

20The Scriptures also say,

“If your enemies are hungry, give them something to eat. And if they are thirsty, give them something to drink. This will be the same as piling burning coals on their heads.”

21Don’t let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good.

No matter what it is in life that may bring you down, just know that it can’t beat you. You’re gonna be alright. That’s a promise that has already been made to you…all you have to do is believe. Let your hope make you glad.

God bless, friends.
