The Constant Among the Changes

Even during this absolutely crazy year of 2020, with so many changes and so many struggles here on this Earth…one thing has not changed.

Psalms 102:27
You are always the same. You are God for all time.

I don’t know about you, but this gives me reason for having joy. He is with us, through it all. Yes!

Plenty to still be thankful for, today. Happy Thanksgiving, friends. Have a great day.

Breakthrough

“Breakthrough begins where my excuses end.”

Are you waiting for a breakthrough in your life? The sentence above might not be what you’re looking to hear, but I’ll bet it rings true the more you think about it. It sure does for me.

Isn’t it true we make so many excuses for the things we feel we can’t overcome? I do it all the time. Let me know if any of this sounds familiar:

God, there’s no way this could possibly change or get better. I’m not worthy of Your grace. My past is too messed up to have a bright future. You could never understand. I really want things to change but it’s impossible, this is just the way it is and always will be. It would be too hard to do what it takes to really see change happen. Why haven’t You given me a breakthrough?

“Could it be possible that while you’re waiting for God to come down, God is waiting for you to get up? Maybe breakthrough doesn’t begin when your situation changes, but when you make a determination within yourself, ‘I’m not blaming anybody, I’m not waiting for anyone, I don’t need my situation to change. God change me, that’s my prayer. God change me. Do a work in me. Living Water, spring up a well within my soul.’ And God says, this is the place where breakthrough begins – not with them, not with it, with Me. Do a work in me, God. I’m ready!”

This message from Pastor Steven Furtick challenges me and I wanted to share it with you. Perhaps you need the same challenge right now.

Let’s challenge ourselves to be the change we are seeking in our lives. Let’s not sit idly another day. Let’s believe God wants us to get up, instead of waiting for Him to come down. God, change me…I’m ready!

Have a great day.

Proper Perspective

“We all need to take a big step back, reflect, and ask ourselves this one question: ‘Why don’t we put this same amount of effort into making the world a better place by donating our time, talents and/or money?’ Turn all this negativity into something positive and be the change you want to see in the world, instead of the alternative.”
-Rachel Buckner

Amen.

The author is spot-on with her assessment of what needs to happen next, after so much name-calling and finger pointing that has happened these past several months, and is still continuing today.

Channel your feelings into something positive, friends.

Have a great day!

Help Me Find It

If there’s a road I should walk, help me find it. If I need to be still, give me peace for the moment. Whatever Your Will, can You help me find it?

Those particular lyrics of this song apply to me right now. At a crossroads of sorts with part of my life.

Everything is good, really good in fact, just looking at a possible change in (my) plans. Excited about what God is doing, but at the same time, a bit nervous and slightly confused about what may be ahead and what His plans are!

I’m going to trust God and pray for Him to do whatever He wants with this. It’s His life, not mine. If you’re the praying type, please feel free to pray for discernment and wisdom for me, to help me find it. 🙂

Thanks, everyone. It’s gonna work out well, I believe that. Have a great day!

Life Changer

“God is a life changer and today, your life can be changed!”

Heard those words at church one morning. They’re so true!

Whatever your situation is right now and whatever difficulties you may be facing, God can – and will – step in to change it for the better. All you have to do is let Him.

If you’ve never asked God into your heart before, you can do it today. If you don’t know what to say, this can get you started.

God, please forgive me for sinning against you. I’m sorry for trying to live life on my own, apart from you.

Thank you, Jesus, for dying in my place and taking the punishment for my sins for me.

LORD, please come into my heart and be the leader of my life.

Please guide my steps, take my burdens and show me Your way. Thank you for loving me.

Amen.

If you’ve prayed that prayer, you have a reward coming to you that you can’t even imagine. It’s an eternal reward and it can never be taken away.

As for what you might be dealing with in life, keep praying about it. You don’t need specific words to say, just talk to Him – and even better, take time to listen to Him.

Get plugged into a local church, where folks can pray with you and for you. Doing this has made a huge (positive) impact in my life, that’s for sure. 🙂

God sees where you are and He cares about you. You’re not in this alone and you’ll make it through this!

Have a great day.
