The Roller Coaster
It’s amazing how many ups and how many downs are included in this little package we call life.

Some days you’re up, some days you’re down. Things can be going along perfectly fine and then, WHAM! All of that changes. It works the other way, too. You can be totally down on your luck and have something wonderful happen to you when you least expect it to.
Life is unpredictable and it really is quite the roller coaster ride. Every time I think I have it figured out, I’m reminded that I don’t have a clue as to what’s around the next turn. It can just come out of the blue. It doesn’t have to be anything specific or significant either. Just, ‘Hmm, what’s up with that?’
This made me smile when I read it, and I’ll explain why in a moment.
1 Corinthians 15
20But Christ has been raised to life! And he makes us certain that others will also be raised to life. 21Just as we will die because of Adam, we will be raised to life because of Christ. 22Adam brought death to all of us, and Christ will bring life to all of us. 23But we must each wait our turn. Christ was the first to be raised to life, and his people will be raised to life when he returns.
Notice anything in those verses that relates to everyday life? This is a fairly ‘roller coaster-esque’ couple of sentences if you think about it.
You have the highest highs – the promise of eternal life. You have the lowest lows – the fall of man. And, as an aside, you have a direct reference to the waiting that we all have to learn to do in between.
Something about this just gave me an added sense of peace as well as some perspective when I read it. There will be highs and there will be lows but through it all, God is in control.
I’d love to hear your take on this. Feel free to share your thoughts.
Have a great day!
