It’s Your Choice

Perhaps you’re facing a difficult situation right now. Maybe you’ve been dealt a hand you feel isn’t fair or feel like you’re fighting an uphill battle. You’re looking at it as a bad deal, and one that doesn’t seem to have any upside to it.

No matter what it might be, the situations we encounter in our lives are neither good nor bad – they only become one of those two as a result of how we view them. Regardless of whether or not you’ve chosen your situation, you always get to choose how you look at it.

What seems like a terrible thing could actually be a blessing in disguise. Something that upsets you or causes you stress is more than likely strengthening you for future endeavors. What seems like something that is a negative in your life could actually be a positive if you look at it a little more closely.

There is so much more happening behind just the surface of what the situations in our lives seem to present. God is working on His master plan for you, whether or not it makes sense all the time. He has a great plan for your life!

I challenge you today to rethink your situation. If it looks bad, bleak, whatever…take a few minutes and think of the positives that could come from it, whether right now or in the future. Even what might be described as the worst situations can bring good things to people. I’ve seen it personally before and it happens all the time elsewhere.

It really is a matter of perspective. If you choose to believe that your situation is bad, it probably will be. If you choose to believe that your situation is good or that good is coming from it or can come from it, you can create your own peace and even happiness in spite of what seems to be a tough time or circumstance.

It’s up to you. You get to choose your perspective, no matter what comes your way. So how will you look at your situation?

  1. Hey Brian,
This is exactly what a friend of mine needs to see… I am going to share it with her now. It’s not our plan, it is his. We need to put our faith in him, for he knows what he wants for us. Instead of feeling “Why me”, we need to use our energy to find the purpose and good that can come from things we didn’t expect.
    Thanks for sharing…
