Stand Firm and Don’t Be Shaken

After reading this passage I felt like I should share it:

1 Corinthians 15: 56Sin is what gives death its sting, and the Law is the power behind sin. 57But thank God for letting our Lord Jesus Christ give us the victory!
58My dear friends, stand firm and don’t be shaken. Always keep busy working for the Lord. You know that everything you do for him is worthwhile.

Verse 57 means a lot to me, especially this week as we prepare for what has become the most meaningful day of the year for me. The days leading up to Easter are when I feel most connected to Christ and most thankful for the simple fact that I am alive and well – both physically and spiritually.

Can barely mention it without getting emotional. I didn’t always feel this way. Wasn’t until a whole bunch of difficult stuff happened in my life that I developed an actual ‘relationship’ with God.

Things haven’t been perfect since then but the peace that has come with asking for and receiving forgiveness along with opening my heart to God has been nothing short of incredible.

It is something I need and something I never want to be without for the rest of my life. Bottom line: In my life I have found that when I don’t put God first, I don’t get very far. This has proven itself time and time again.

Despite the fact it took those really hard times to get me to the point where I had even a semblance of a real relationship with the LORD, I’m thankful that in the end it did. I know now that was the way it was supposed to happen in my case – even though it sure didn’t make sense at the time.

And so I just want to say thank you Jesus, for dying on the cross for me and in the process paying my debt and giving me a chance to really live. Words can’t express my gratitude.
